Climate Change Driving Weather off the Charts

Janet Larsen from the Earth Policy Institute just published an overview of one of the most obvious consequences of global warming: the weather is actually going crazy. It is bad news when meteorologists need to invent new categories for the severity of storms and have to redefine the color codes used to visualize temperatures on weather maps, as the temperatures are literally off the charts.

On a related topic, Sardinia was just hit very hard by a torrential rainstorm and Illinois suffered severe destruction from a large number of very strong out-of-season tornadoes.

And by the way, the global emissions of greenhouse gases set a new record in 2013.
