GISEco – for nature cannot be fooled.

The statement that “nature cannot be fooled” is a famous quote by Richard Feynman, who used it to describe the causes of the Challenger disaster in 1986. The full quote reads:

For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for nature cannot be fooled.

We also believe that “reality must take precedence over public relations” in the environmental debate. Global warming is not a political problem but a real one. If we don’t do anything about it, the consequences will be disastrous. We owe it to our children and grand-children to act now.

The good news is that we know exactly what to do. The CO2-emissions need to be lowered dramatically, which can only be achieved be accounting for the external costs of burning fossil fuel. Our goal is to put this simple solution on the political agenda.

GISEco was initiated by Henrik Nordborg, a professor at the University of Applied Sciences in Rapperswil, Switzerland, where he teaches physics and numerical simulations.
